Sustainable Progress and Equality Collective (SPEC) is an organization that provides paid learning opportunities to early career professionals, bootcamp grads, and career changers.
Updated branding - Due to the previous color palette consisting of 11 seemingly random and visually similar colors, it was deemed necessary to redefine SPEC's branding. Taking inspiration from SPEC's logo, we found that the combination of turquoise and yellow worked harmoniously. Our objective was to create a design that felt light, welcoming, and friendly.
Updated sitemap - During the stakeholder interviews, the suggestion to streamline the existing website and minimize the required number of subpages was raised. In response, I developed a single-page informative website for the MVP and featuring only two subpages (About and Team) for V2.
New look - It was crucial to enhance the cohesiveness, scan-ability, and clarity of actions in the design while incorporating the existing elements.
Responsive - Responsiveness between web and mobile was prioritized to accommodate the range of devices used by the target audience.
I initiated a heuristic evaluation to identify usability concerns, including consistency, error prevention, and user control.
Following that, a comprehensive site audit was conducted to evaluate the website's content, structure, and navigation. This involved analyzing the existing information architecture, sitemap, and content organization to uncover potential areas of content redundancy, inconsistencies, and opportunities for optimizing the user journey.
Additionally, interviews were conducted with key stakeholders to gain insights into the business objectives, user requirements, and any specific considerations for the website redesign.
With my previous experience in the fashion industry as a product manager, I have a deep understanding of project timelines, budget, target audience, and user preferences, I collaborated with developers, and stakeholders to ensure the website redesign reflects the brand's identity while delivering a simple and intuitive user experience.
